I've always loved photographs.  Even when I was really small.  My nana used to let me use her ViewMaster camera.  I was enchanted by the way the world would get tunneled out.

I also wore swimming goggles for a large chunk of my childhood (see how I'm pretending I don't do it anymore?).  Dinner table, school, long car rides, riding down the sidewalk on a broom, goggles on.

Physically incapable of winking my whole life, when I set out to take my own photos, it was hard to train my eye.  So when I was alone, I would pull out my trusty goggles.  Right eye blacked out with a Sharpie.

When I wore them, I felt magical, focused, and more than slightly ridiculous.  A perfect combo.

I am a serious amateur enthusiast.  The bulk of my photographs are macro, I like showing what isn't always visible on the surface.  Hidden beauty.  Hidden oddity.  It's all fantastic to me.  Photography is a unique opportunity to let the world see through someone else's eyes.
